Did you guys know I have an amazing mother? I do. Amongst a long list of things she does for me, she has been one of the strongest supporters of this blog.
I grew up with one of those mothers… The kind that made my friends jealous because she was, and still is, one-of-a-kind. When her teenage daughter came out to her? She said, “I know…” and continued to love me just as I am. When I wanted to be a nanny, a painter, and now, a writer… she has always been there saying I could do it. When I struggled through working full time and being a full time student, she cheered me on. She’s always been my sounding board and a person I know I can count on, no matter how far I fall. And I assure you I’ve fallen. But she is always there, knowing when I need to stand on my own and when to give a helping hand.
To my Marmee, with love…
Thank you for reading to us The Five Little Peppers and How They Grew and The Boxcar Children when we were little girls. I’ll cherish that memory forever. Thank you for showing me the kind of woman I wanted to grow to be. Thank you for giving me your unconditional love and support. Thank you for putting up with me for almost thirty years, I know they weren’t all easy. Thank you for never judging me for loving girls and for having unconventional dreams. You are always there to ensure everything in your power has been done to help me succeed in life. Thank you for that trip to Ohio, you know the one… Where you left and I stayed, we both were bawling and my heart was breaking as I drove away. You held my hand until the last moment and knew it was time for me to become my own woman. Thank you for always allowing me to find home in your arms, no matter how close or far my home was from you. “My cup runneth over.” I love you more than Disney.
