It’s not cocky when you’ve got the goods to back it up.

Lust-maker. Pleasure giver. Fantasy creator. I can blow your mind in five seconds flat — but trust me, you’ll want this to last all night.

There’s not a woman in the city who can resist me. Except one.

Now she’s got a proposition: Seven days. Every position. No strings attached.

She wants to know what she’s been missing.

Who am I to say no?

She puts her hands on the back of my head and pulls me towards her, thrusting her tongue down my throat, tongue-fucking me as I bite and suck at her cherry-flavored mouth. I run my hands aggressively down her back, tracing the curve that leads to her ass, and grab it hungrily, pulling her leg up against my hip, and running my other hand down her thigh, then back up inside her skirt.

Ms. Long Legs can’t even catch her breath quick enough to moan properly. Shaking her ass on the dancefloor was foreplay enough, now she’s wet and ready. I press her up against the wall, and slip my hand under her thigh to find a sweet wetness below. She just shudders a little and pulls me closer aggressively.

I roll my fingers around her barely-there underwear, feeling the inviting softness of her pussy. She pulls her head back, looks up at the sky, and exhales deeply, her chest sinking beautifully.

I get a good grip on her panties and tear them off her in a single, powerful stroke. It turns her on even more.

Every once in awhile you pick up an ARC of a first time author and it’s a miss. And sometimes, you are blessed with something that makes you go YES!! This. This right here is simply perfection. You get this feeling while reading it that you can’t describe. Because you know, that this author has something special. A rare gift. And that gift is writing. I have no idea how this can be JD Hawkins first book, but I’m so glad that he decided to write it. Because good fucking God. It’s amazing!!!

Jax Wilder is not just a man. He’s a sex lord. God’s gift. Cocky. Arrogant. Blessed, in all the things. Dominant. Gets what he wants. He is the whole package. Usually cocky and arrogant have me doing major eye roll. But this is what I’m talking about. It’s done with such brilliance I can’t even explain it. It makes you crave him more. He’s like a drug. One that I would gladly OD on.

Then there is Lizzie. Probably the first girl to turn Jax down. At least the first 2 times. She has just come out of a long-term relationship, one that was pretty much black and white. No color. No spark. No anything. So yes, when she sees Jax, being newly single, you better believe she will not pass up another opportunity. Lizzie makes Jax a proposition. One, that he can’t refuse. I’d like to also state that this is not just a book. But I felt like it was a very informative book as well. A “how to” vibe. So many times I kept thinking “yes. YES. EXACTLY THAT!!” Or hmmm. I might need to take notes and try that. It’s like JD Hawkins is a “whisperer” of some sort.

So when Jax agrees to Lizzie’s most indecent proposition, this is where the “teaching” happens. One week. No strings. No feelings. But of course we all know how that works out. Just going to say it. I would not mind signing up for a week of hard lessons from Jax Wilder. Just sayin. Jax is a man made to fuck. And good god. The sex in this book. Holy fucking hotness!!!! If I ever went back to smoking, it would be this book’s fault.
But then we get to the ending. And my heart might of broke. Poor Lizzie!! Poor Jax!!! These two confused souls. Which is why I NEED BOOK 2 NOW!!!!!!

So bottom line. Shocked is an understatement. No offense to JD Hawkins. But I honestly was not expecting THIS!! Especially from a first time author!! He writes like a mother fucking pro. It’s witty, clever, hot as hell, so many laugh out loud moments!!! I loved everything about this book!! So you all need to 1-click this. Buy it. Read it. Bump it up to next on your overflowing TBR shelves. Because Jax Wilder will not disappoint you!!!!

Paula's Review

I was really excited to get an ARC of this book. One week, no strings attached sex with a man whore? Who doesn’t love reading about a man whore that finally meets the woman that brings him to his knees? Wheeeee. Count me in, because you know things never go as planned.

Jax is a wealthy attractive playboy who has worked for everything he has. He’s cocky, arrogant and flits from woman to woman. He’s what I would call a guy’s guy. Jax has been around the block. And around. And around again.

Lizzie is sort of a sweet, bumbling, innocent with some baggage that’s left her somewhat insecure. She’s attracted to Jax and after a night of amazing sex decides she needs him to teach her how “to fuck.” Jax will teach her everything she needs to know; she’ll take the wisdom he gives her and become a force to be reckoned with. And they get to bang each other’s brains out in the process. Win/Win.

This is where I became torn about Jax. I didn’t quite know what to make of him. Some of his thoughts seemed so shallow to me, but I kept the faith that that was part of the plot. That he would realize it wasn’t all about boobs and beauty. He was brash, yes, but he was witty too–his saving grace. I love a man with a sense of humor so that side of Jax really appealed to me.

At times, I had some “ah ha” insightful moments regarding what men think, since this book was written by a male author. But during her lessons some of the things Jax said had me wanting to punch him. Was I supposed to want to punch him? I’m not sure. But I did. I can handle cocky but I need some deep layers there to counteract the ego. A heart of gold, a tortured childhood…something. I need to know what makes this man tick. I don’t care about what kind of car he drives, or how good he looks, I want to know why he can’t commit to anyone. Near the end, I started getting glimpses of a more vulnerable Jax and that’s when I started to connect.

For a first time author the writing was really good and the storyline had lots of promise. Honestly, the sex scenes did leave me wanting a bit more. I’m going to sound like a sex freak but since this is erotica, I want/expect some next level, down and dirty, descriptive sex in book 2. Shock me. Take me beyond ordinary and push my boundaries. Put it somewhere I’m not expecting. And please God, give me some STROKING.

There’s a big cliffhanger that leaves the door open for all kinds of possibilities so I’m looking forward to book two. I hope to see both characters fleshed out a little more in the next book so I can go all in because JD Hawkins has talent and all the right ingredients to make this excellent.

I was excited to get an ARC of Insatiable by JD Hawkins. It’s always a bit exhilarating to read a new author because you never know if it’s going to be a good fit. I was on the fence about this one until the halfway mark.

The book starts with Jax on the prowl at a club. We see him in action, and he’s the epitome of the big dick swinging alpha male. We’ve met him before. We’ve met him a lot actually. The only question is whether he can live up to the hype and stand out from the others. I don’t want to invest in Mr. Big Dick Swinging Alpha and have him end up being a lame chump that just talks about being a hot alpha. Will Jax pass the test? In the beginning, I wasn’t so sure. I was getting a whole lot of telling and not enough showing so it clouded my judgment a bit. However, seeing Jax with his right-hand woman and BFF Luce helped to change my opinion of him. I could see the real charm past the cocky bravado.

Then we meet Lizzie and it’s refreshing to get inside her head. She’s just gone through an event that has left her reeling. She needs something, anything to shake her out of this slump and Jax seems like the perfect fix. Some of Lizzie’s thoughts were spot on and made me laugh out loud while others left me shaking my head. Overall, I enjoyed her voice and seeing Jax through Lizzie’s eyes made me appreciate him more. He seemed more like a real human being instead of a caricature of what an alpha male book hero is supposed to be.

As the book progressed, I started to get more invested in these characters. By the end, I thought Jax’s internal dialogue was witty and insightful. I found myself liking him. I liked his snark, his attitude, his brashness, and his surprising vulnerability. So much so that I’ll forgive him for having that Ferrari and ok -just maybe- that Ferrari is a little bit hot. Only Jax could pull that off. He’s the kind of guy I’d want to hang out with in a bar so we could drink whiskey, tell stories, and cruise chicks together. And I’d want to hang with Lizzie too and have her tell me stories of that time she made that crazy agreement with that lothario. I also want to see Lizzie completely embrace her new outlook on life.

Since it’s an erotic novel I need to mention the sex, right? Let’s just say Jax definitely knows his way around a woman’s body, and Lizzy is an excellent student. I can’t quite put my finger on why, but the sex scenes were just shy of left-hand worthy for me. I think it’s because Jax hadn’t won me over until close to the end so I’m really looking forward to the sex in book 2.

All in all, I think Jax and Lizzie will win you over too. The writing will surprise and impress you. Take a chance on this new author and grab Insatiable now! I’m excited for book 2, and hope to see more character growth and hot sex.
