Title: Beguiling

Author: Alex Lucian

Hate: to dislike intensely or passionately; feel extreme aversion for or extreme hostility toward.

Scarlet Jennings, the preacher’s daughter who lived across the street, was a royal, uptight pain in my ass. When she looked at me, she saw a college quarterback asshole with rocks for brains, but she didn’t have a single word for what was happening between us.

When we were forced to ride together every single day that summer, there was definitely some dislike going on. Extreme hostility was a given, considering that we were spending so much time together in close quarters.

One night of bed-breaking, body-shattering, lose-your-voice-from-screaming passion had surprised us both, but it was only just the beginning…

Paula Dawn's Review

Where do I even begin? Tempting was my top read of 2015 so I had extremely high expectations for Beguiling. Sometimes that can lead to a let down. Thank god Alex Lucian didn’t disappoint me, cause that would have been so sad and no one likes to be sad. No one. Thank you, Alex Lucian, for having the immense talent to not make me sad.

Beguiling is a love/hate premise mixed with one of my favorite things…humor. Make me laugh and I’m yours. Give me a flawlessly written erotic plot with characters I connect with so deeply that I feel like I’m living the story along with them and I’ll buy everything you ever write. Alex Lucian is worth every cent. Plus two extra.

In Tempting, Leo stood out to me. There was something about his brief appearances that intrigued me. My spidey senses were right about him, because I fell completely in love with him in Beguiling. Like top book boyfriend love. That’s serious for me because my club is very exclusive. 5 members. Now there’s 6. Welcome, Leo.

Leo is the star quarterback and this guy was sweet, funny, and oh so sexy. He was cocky at times but never skated over that line into asshole territory. Leo’s object of hate /lust, Scarlet Jennings, his neighbor, was the perfect match for him. I loved her feisty personality and her banter with Leo. They made me legit laugh out loud. These two did not like each other but those always are the most fun to watch, aren’t they?

Scarlet is inexperienced when it comes to sex, she’s been too focused on school and her veterinary degree to sow any wild oats. Plus, her dad is a preacher. That surely didn’t help things. She has a bucket list of things she wants to do and this list included some very naughty items. When Leo discovered the list and offered to help her check some of it off, well, it made me make one of my own.

God I loved him. Alex Lucian created utter magic with the chemistry between these two. It doesn’t always have to be sex to be hot and MY GOD, Beguiling proved it. Sexting, blowjobs, and masturbation can be equally arousing. And it was, if not more. Trust me on that one.

Leo was so dirty but he had this tender side to him. Sigh. He’s the killer combination: sex and sweetness. I love when you stumble across a line that takes your breath away and that happened to me a few times with Leo. Some of the things he thought about Scarlet had my heart aching. And adding to my bucket list…

Few authors captivate me with their writing to such a degree that I know everything I read by them will be stellar. Even less that send me into full out exclamation point, read this book or I’ll read it to you, fan girl mode. Alex Lucian is now one of those authors. You really must read Beguiling. This was a much different read than Tempting, not as dark, and it was just as amazing. It was touch yourself sexy, light hearted, and what I imagine perfection is. And that epilogue. I can’t even. My heart nearly burst out of my chest. Buy this book. Trust me, you’ll love it.
